If I am being completely honest, my skin has been suffering lately. I believe the stress from Michael finishing school and finding a job, to moving with kids was very stressful. It all just took a toll on my skin, but now that we have been settled in our new house for the past three weeks I have noticed a huge difference in my skin, BUT I have also changed a lot about my skincare routine. So here is my skincare update!
I feel like the past year or so was the year of women shaving their faces. So many girls I know still do it, but I do not think it is for everyone. I tried it. The first month was smooth silky skin, which made my makeup glide on beautifully. The next month I noticed my skin getting worse and worse and the days after I “shaved” were horrible! I am now realizing, I was getting a type of razor burn. I don’t need to describe it, but just know it wasn’t cute.
Fast forward to now. I quit the trend of women shaving their faces and switched to something I actually started doing almost 6 years ago. Dermarolling! I do not know why I stopped but I am so happy with my results so far. This device might look completely scary at first and it does hurt but the results I am seeing are so worth it. Smoother more even skin and my old scars are fading drastically! If you plan on trying it out I suggest starting with a shorter needle, but I do use a 1mm needle on my face, which is suggested for the body. P.S. moms out there, this works AMAZING on stretchmarks! My doctor was so impressed with how mine were basically gone after using my dermaroller on them.
Once I am finished rolling my entire face, I apply rose oil and a few other skin serums that are now able to soak into your skin, since you just put tiny holes all over your face. My suggestion would be to start slow. Roll your face once or twice a week and work your way up. I now roll my face every night, but that would be extremely harsh for someone just beginning to dermaroll.
Here is every skincare item I am using at the moment. If you have any questions about any of them feel free to leave a comment or DM on Instagram. I plan to go into more details about each product, but for now dermarolling has been a huge skin changer for me.
