(My sweatshirt & GG’s nightgown)

Happy Wednesday girls and Happy Birthday to my sweet GG! I cannot believe she is five years old today. We have lots of fun things planned for her, but I wanted to write a post real quick all about our bed time routine. Now, this routine has been going strong for the past three years and I honestly don’t see it stopping any time soon. GG likes routine from the time she wakes up to the time she goes to bed. She has the whole day figured out.

Do any of your kids have to have things a set way or done in a particular order? Well missy moo is the queen of this at bed time! After we have gotten all clean and PJ’s on we pile into her bed. If I would let her she would read every book we owned at bed time, but she brings me back her favorite book sometimes two or three. Now, we have been long over due for some new books, so when Ginny Jordan reached out to me about her book, “What’s Making Walter C. Laugh?” I knew GG would love it! When the book finally arrived Giuliana could not wait to look at all of the silly pictures and that night we read it for the first time.

“What’s Making Walter C. Laugh?”, is a very colorful and fun book that really allows for your child’s imagination to wander. At the end of the book I love that Ginny left some pages blank for the reader to draw pictures of what they think is making Walter C. laugh. Giuliana colors and draws all of the time so she was ready right away to start drawing what she thought was making Walter C. laugh. When I asked her what she thought was making him laugh she said, cupcakes! Hmmm I think someone has her birthday on her mind. This was the perfect book to start our nightly routine and if you have little ones that love silly and colorful books then you must check out this book!

After our bed time story, GG gives us all a hug, kiss, high five, and then a fist bump. Like I said she has a very set routine and we can’t stray from these steps or she will be calling us all back in to her room. To make the room extra cozy and bed time friendly I love to diffuse some Young Living Peace & Calming oil or Lavender is wonderful as well! Do you use essential oils? We have been using oils since GG was a baby and don’t think we could go without them!

Thank you again to Ginny Jordan for creating such a fun book and I really hope you come out with more! We absolutely loved it and it really got my imagination going as well. I honestly love when GG tells me what she thinks about books because her imagination far surpasses what mine ever was. Reading is one thing that keeps that imagination alive. I was never pushed to read as a child and now I wish I had been. I hope GG loves books and enjoys reading into her adult life because I think it is so healthy for our minds to imagine new things that we could only experience in a book.

Thank you so much for reading and let me know if you check out this book. We loved it and I hope you do as well!
