Top 5 Favorite Trench Coats

Hey everyone! Ok it is safe to say there will always be a new post up on Wednesdays. One goal I have this summer is to post at least three times a week, so hopefully that will happen. This is the lightest summer load Michael has had since we moved to Baton Rouge three years ago. Luckily he really enjoys taking pictures and is even starting to recognize when something isn’t working and coaching me on things to do and not to do. It has been so fun!

As kids we all learned the saying, “April showers bring May flowers”. Well, in south Louisiana April brings showers, hurricanes, summer heat, and cold snaps so you always have to be prepared. The weather can turn on you in the matter of minutes. One closet staple I believe we all need is a good classic trench coat. I have had this one going on 6 years so sadly I cant find it, but there are SO many I love that I will link down below. When researching trench coats, I learned they first originated in the 1850’s by Aquascutum. Later, in 1879, Burberry invented the fabric to be used for an Army officer’s raincoat. I believe the Burberry trench coat is the most sought after in the fashion world because it has become such an iconic piece. I mean, I would gladly take a preloved Burberry trench any day, but since it is such a timeless piece I am sure it would be hard to find.

How cute is the necklace I am wearing?! My sweet friend Katie owns ShopAbbiJ and was so kind the give me a few pieces. If you head over to my Instagram page (@rougewithlove) you can enter to win this necklace! The winner will be announce on Monday May 1st, so there is still plenty of time to enter. 🙂
